💱 About the Currency ShopSavvy Shows
ShopSavvy picks your currency automatically based on your location — here is how it works.
ShopSavvy shows prices in your local currency automatically. There is no manual currency switch, on purpose — the retailers we pull from vary by region, and prices only make sense in the currency each retailer charges.
How It Picks
- On mobile: the currency follows your phone's region (Settings → General → Language & Region on iPhone, or the equivalent on Android).
- On the website: we detect your country from your browser and IP.
- On Desktop: we use your operating system's locale.
Traveling or Shopping Abroad
If you are outside your usual country and want to see prices in a different currency, the simplest approaches:
- On your phone, temporarily change your region in system settings. ShopSavvy will switch to that region's retailers and currency.
- On the web, try a VPN set to the country you want. Prices will follow.
Why There Is No Manual Switcher
Retailers are region-specific — a US retailer does not sell into the UK at GBP prices, and vice versa. A manual currency toggle would just convert numbers without matching you to the stores that will actually sell to your address. We would rather show prices that match the store that will ship to you.
If Something Looks Wrong
If you are seeing the wrong currency for where you are (for example, USD when you live in Canada), email support@shopsavvy.com and we will investigate.
