🛡️ About Privacy and What ShopSavvy Collects

ShopSavvy has been around since 2008, and from the start it has been a tool that works for shoppers, not retailers. Privacy is a real part of that — not a marketing line.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your shopping habits to data brokers.
• We do not require an account to use the app. You can scan, search, and compare prices fully anonymously.
• We do not prioritize a retailer because they paid us. Results are sorted by price, full stop.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites for advertising profiles.

What We Do Collect

When you use the app with an account, we keep:

• The products and searches you choose to watch (so we can send you alerts).
• Your alert thresholds and notification preferences.
• Optional retailer preferences (preferred / excluded).
• Anonymous usage data on first launch — only with your permission, and only to fix crashes and figure out which features people actually use.

When you use the app without an account, we keep none of the above. Scans and searches are local to your device.

Why We Need What We Need

• Watching a product means we have to keep checking that product's price for you. That's the whole feature — and it requires storing what you're watching.
• Anonymous crash reports help us fix the app faster. If you'd rather not contribute, turn it off in Settings → Privacy any time.
• Account data syncs across iPhone, Android, web, desktop, and the browser extension. Without an account, each device starts fresh.

What You Can Do

• Use ShopSavvy without signing in — most features (scan, search, compare, deals feed) work with no account at all.
• Turn off anonymous usage — Settings → Privacy on iOS and Android.
• Delete your account at any time — see the help article on deleting your account. We delete watched products, searches, and any analytics tied to that account.

Tips

• If you only need a quick price check, you don't need an account. The barcode scanner and search both work anonymously.
• If you do create an account, sign in once on every device you want to share watches with — that's it.
• We're a small, private company (Monolith Technologies, Inc.) — there's no parent ad-tech business profiting from your data on the side.
