For serious gamers, the Valve Index is hard to beat. This headset is celebrated for its high build quality and superior tracking technology, offering a resolution of 1440 x 1600 per eye and an impressive refresh rate of up to 144Hz. Its ergonomic design ensures comfort during extended gaming sessions, and the inclusion of external 'lighthouse' base stations guarantees precise tracking. 💸Budget Pick: Oculus Quest 2 64 GB
For those venturing into the world of VR on a budget, the Meta Quest 2 is an excellent entry point. Priced at approximately $249, it strikes a good balance between performance and cost-efficiency. As a standalone headset, it offers convenience but can also be connected to a PC for more demanding VR applications. The 1832 x 1920 resolution per eye and up to 120Hz refresh rate ensure a satisfactory visual experience. While it may lack some of the advanced features found in newer models, its user-friendly operation and extensive app library make it a great choice for beginners and casual users alike.
Best VR Headset for Console: PlayStation VR2
If you're a console gamer, the PlayStation VR 2 is the top choice for your PlayStation 5. Providing a resolution of 2000 x 2040 per eye and a 120Hz refresh rate, it ensures crisp visuals and a smooth gaming experience. Setup is easy with just a USB-C connection required. Although some exclusive PlayStation features are lost when using it with a PC, it still offers excellent performance. The PSVR2 is an excellent selection for those who want to enjoy VR on both consoles and PCs, bridging the gap with ease.

With a resolution of 2448 x 2448 per eye and a 120Hz refresh rate, it delivers stunning detail and clarity. Ergonomically designed for prolonged use, it also supports advanced features like body tracking and wireless functionality (with additional accessories).
