The Ringside Apex Boxing Speed Bag, as the manufacturer puts it, aims to boost hand-eye coordination and speed. It's made from premium synthetic leather, which sounds sturdy. From our research, though, there are a few complaints you might want to consider.
The main issue people mention is air retention. The bag uses a latex bladder, which, according to the manufacturer's description, is supposed to be lightweight and bounce back nicely. But here's the catch: latex has a tendency to be porous, so it loses air over time. You'll likely need to top it up every few days.
Some folks find this bothersome. Our research highlights that there are users who reported air leakage issues, feeling that the bladder couldn't hold air long enough, which made the frequent re-inflation a hassle. One person even said theirs started leaking shortly after they got it, raising some durability worries.
On the brighter side, there are people who love how it performs. They’ve mentioned that once it’s pumped up, it’s super quick and responsive. So, while you might have to re-inflate it now and then, many feel it’s a fair trade for the improved rebound.
Ultimately, think about what's most important for your training. If a fast and responsive bag is what you're after and a bit of regular upkeep doesn’t bother you, this speed bag could still be worth it.
Just remember, if you're hoping for something low-maintenance, the need for constant inflation may be something to think over.
So, in short, this speed bag seems to perform well, but be ready for some upkeep with air maintenance. Consider how much you're willing to fiddle with it when deciding if it's the right fit for your workouts.
