The RSVP International Nutty Squirrel Nutcracker is an interesting mix of decoration and function. The manufacturer describes it as being able to crack a variety of nuts while bringing a fun squirrel design to your countertop.
From what we've seen, its performance seems to vary. It's pretty good with standard nuts like almonds and walnuts, but it might struggle with tougher ones like pecans and hazelnuts. So, it might not be as powerful as some might hope.
It's made from cast aluminum, so it's solid, but the design might be more about looks than pure leverage power. Sometimes, tools that look this cute are better at sitting pretty on the counter than tackling every nut efficiently.
Whether it's more decorative or functional really depends on what you're after. If a quirky and decorative nutcracker that can manage light nut-cracking tasks sounds appealing, this could fit the bill.
But if you're after something to handle any and every type of nut, it might fall a bit short.
So, if you appreciate its fun design and don't mind its limitations, it could be a fun addition to your kitchen. But if practicality is your main concern, you might want to look into more straightforward designs.
