If you're wondering about the hand strength needed for the Sherman Marson 39000 HP-2 Professional Hand Riveter, it's generally moderate. According to our research, it’s designed for professional performance, so it does require a bit of muscle to use comfortably.
The tool can handle different types of rivets—steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Depending on the type of rivet and the thickness of the materials, you’ll need varying levels of force. Stainless steel rivets, being tougher, tend to require more effort compared to aluminum ones.
From what we've found, many folks suggest that while this tool is sturdy and gets the job done, it might take a bit of practice if you’re new to a professional-grade hand riveter. It seems a strong grip and good hand leverage can make a big difference.
So, if you're worried about hand strength, maybe look for a riveter with a longer handle or one that's easier on the hands.
Just a heads-up: it looks like the HP-2 doesn't come with rivets. Some people were surprised by this since the description talks about the range of sizes it can handle. But really, that's more about the tool's versatility than including rivets.
So, you’ll need to buy the specific rivets you’ll be using separately.
In all, the HP-2 is admired for professional use thanks to its durability and efficiency. Just keep in mind that it's best suited for those with a bit of hand strength for tougher jobs, and make sure you grab the correct rivets you need.
