So, if you're asking about the size of hoses that the Steelsoft Size #6 clamps can fit, they're designed for hoses with an outer diameter ranging from about 10 to 16 mm (or 0.39 to 0.63 inches). This makes them a great fit for smaller hoses, like those used in car fuel lines or small plumbing projects.
Regarding materials, the manufacturer's product description notes that these clamps, including the screw, buckle, and band, are made from 304 stainless steel. This type of steel is pretty durable and resists corrosion.
But, according to our research, some folks have noticed that the screws display magnetic properties. This has led to some doubts about whether they're fully stainless steel.
The manufacturer mentions that the screws are zinc plated, which might explain the magnetic feature and also provides extra protection against wear—handy for when things get heated or require extra torque. However, if you need these clamps for marine use or other areas where full corrosion resistance is essential, it's worth double-checking this.
From what we've found, experiences vary. Many people say the clamps work well, sealing tightly without rust, even under pressures up to 110 psi in air compressors. Yet, some are a bit bothered by the magnetic characteristic and have opted for other options when full stainless steel is a must.
Overall, if you're using them for typical automotive or household tasks, these clamps should do the job. They're generally well-regarded for performance and ease.
Just be sure they're what you need if you're looking for non-magnetic, fully stainless steel options for specialized settings. It's always smart to make sure the gear matches your needs!
