The Vortex AMG UH-1 Gen II Holographic Sight has a battery life of about 1,500 hours with a CR123A battery, according to the manufacturer. This means you can rely on it for quite a while without having to constantly worry about changing batteries, whether you're using it casually or professionally in fields like hunting or law enforcement.
One handy feature is its built-in battery compartment, which makes swapping out batteries pretty straightforward. Plus, there's an automatic shut-off that kicks in after 14 hours of continuous use, helping to save power if you forget to turn it off.
Our research shows that many folks appreciate the long battery life as a reliable aspect of the sight. However, if you plan on using it extensively, it might be wise to keep some spare CR123A batteries on hand, just in case.
While its battery life is impressive, the sight's advanced options like night vision compatibility do need some juice. The night vision settings have improved over the prior model, giving smoother transitions in different lighting conditions.
Just keep an eye on power usage so you can make the most of these features without cutting your time short.
So, if long-lasting battery life is a priority for you, the Vortex AMG UH-1 Gen II is definitely up there. It's reliable and offers good endurance before you need to think about battery replacements—a good fit for long days or nighttime outings.
Just think about how you'll be using it to ensure it's the right match for your needs.
