Band compatibility varies by Series 11 size. Here's what works with each model.

46mm Series 11 Compatibility

The larger model accepts bands from multiple generations:

• 46mm bands (Series 10/11)
• 45mm bands (Series 7/8/9)
• 44mm bands (Series 4/5/6/SE)
• 49mm bands (Apple Watch Ultra)

If you're upgrading from any larger Apple Watch from the past several years, your existing bands will fit.

42mm Series 11 Compatibility

The smaller model has specific compatibility rules:

Compatible bands:

• 42mm (Series 10/11 only)
• 41mm (Series 7/8/9)
• 40mm (Series 4/5/6/SE)
• 38mm (Series 1/2/3)

Not compatible:

• Original 42mm bands from Series 1, 2, or 3

Apple used "42mm" for two different case sizes across generations. Bands from Series 4 or newer (any size) and the original 38mm bands will fit, but original 42mm bands will not.

Upgrading from Series 10

All bands transfer directly. Case dimensions are identical between Series 10 and 11.

Keep dry:

• Leather bands (water damages leather)
