No phone launch is perfect, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max has had its share of early issues. Here's what people are running into and what you can do about it.

The Wi-Fi and Cellular Thing

This is probably the most annoying one. Some users are seeing random signal drops, especially if they're using eSIM. The weirdest part? Wi-Fi sometimes disconnects for a second right when you unlock your phone. Super frustrating if you use CarPlay.

What to try:

• Update to iOS 26.1 or newer. Apple's been fixing these
• If it's still happening, go to your carrier and have them remove and reinstall your eSIM
• Last resort: Reset network settings (you'll have to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords)

It Scratches Pretty Easy

The aluminum scratches more than the titanium on last year's model. Some people have noticed marks within a few weeks, especially around the camera area.

My advice: Just use a case. If you hate cases, get the silver color. It hides scratches way better than Orange or Blue.

iOS 26 Has Been Buggy

Early versions of iOS 26 were rough. Apps crashing, phone getting sluggish, having to restart multiple times a day. Classic new iOS growing pains.

The fix: Keep your phone updated. Apple's been pushing fixes regularly.

Some Bluetooth Weirdness

Certain wireless earbuds aren't playing nice, especially cheaper third-party ones. Audio quality issues, connection drops.

What works: Unpair and re-pair your earbuds. Make sure they support modern Bluetooth standards.

Battery Not Meeting Expectations?

Some folks aren't seeing the battery life they expected. Check Settings → Battery to see what's eating power. Sometimes it's a rogue app running in the background.

The good news: Most of these issues are software problems that Apple is actively fixing.
