The OJY&DOIIIY Fishing Rod Repair Kit is pretty handy for fixing up rods, especially since it includes a foot pedal for hands-free use. This feature can be super useful when you're working with something like epoxy, which needs a steady hand.

However, our research shows some folks have had mixed experiences with the foot pedal. A few people found that the machine kept running even when they weren't pressing the pedal, which suggests there might be a problem with the pedal or maybe just a misunderstanding of how to use it properly.

It seems like this might be an issue with the settings, as others mentioned that once you get the main power switch set just right, the pedal works fine as an on/off switch, making things a bit easier.

The manufacturer intended for the pedal to let you stop and start without touching the unit, which is especially great when you need both hands. But, you've got to make sure the main unit is set up correctly for everything to work as planned. If it's not set right, the pedal could seem like it's not working properly.

Even though some people hit a few bumps with the pedal, many still find it a great addition to the kit. It helps a lot with smoothly applying materials and making the whole repair process easier.

If you're thinking about getting this kit mainly for the foot pedal, be prepared to spend a little time figuring out the setup if needed.

But it looks like, overall, based on what we've found, the kit is well appreciated for its primary functions in rod repair and building. While there might be some quirks with the pedal that need tweaking, the OJY&DOIIIY Fishing Rod Repair Kit is still a popular choice for those into fishing rod maintenance.
