If you're thinking about getting the FYC Walking Pad Under Desk Treadmill, it's useful to know about some of the common issues according to our research. While the treadmill does have neat features like being compact and having dual functions for both under-the-desk use and standalone treadmill workouts, there are some potential drawbacks.
One notable feature is the '2-in-1 Mode', letting you walk at speeds between 0.5 to 2 mph when used under a desk, and jog up to 4 mph when used as a traditional treadmill, according to the manufacturer's product description. It's perfect for light activity, but if you're aiming for brisk running sessions, the max speed of 4 mph might not cut it.
The treadmill also includes five levels of adjustable incline, supposedly mimicking outdoor running. However, our research found that switching between inclines isn't as straightforward as it is on larger machines, which can be frustrating if you're looking to quickly change your workout intensity.
You'll also get a remote control and LED display to adjust speeds and keep track of progress, but there seems to be a mix of opinions on their reliability. Some folks have found the controls a bit difficult, and the accuracy isn't always spot on.
Lastly, even though it has Bluetooth for music playback, there have been some connectivity hiccups, which might interfere with how much you'll enjoy using it.
All in all, the FYC Walking Pad is great if moderate, everyday motion is your goal, especially in tight spaces. But if you want something for intense workouts, you might want to look into more traditional treadmills with higher capacity.
