If you're looking to use Foghat Cherry Tempest wood chips for cocktail smoking, here's how to make the most of them. These shavings are known for their sweet, smoky flavor that comes from aged cherry wood, with a hint of passion fruit. This makes them a great match for lighter wines and spirits, and they can really elevate whiskey cocktails.
The manufacturer describes them as free from chemicals or artificial flavors, so you get a natural smoking experience. They work well with various smoking tools, including handheld smokers and electric smokers. They're especially handy if you're using the Foghat Cocktail Smoker Kit.
In terms of flavor, these chips shine in whiskey cocktails, adding a rich, fruity smokiness. They can enhance the caramel notes in bourbons, making drinks like Smoked Old Fashioneds or Sazeracs even tastier. You don't need a lot to get a nice smoky effect, which is good for making your supply last.
However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. Some folks have found the quantity in each tin to be a bit lacking for the price, so if you're planning on using them a lot, take note of that.
Also, the fine consistency of the shavings might burn quickly depending on your smoker, so you might need to adjust how you use them.
Overall, Foghat Cherry Tempest wood chips can add a lovely smokiness to your cocktails. Just be mindful of how much you use and match the consistency to your tools to get the best results.
Enjoy experimenting with them in your home bar!
