The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 takes approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours to fully charge, depending on conditions.
Specifications
- Charging power: 10W wireless (maximum)
- Included charger: USB-C magnetic puck
- 40mm battery: 325 mAh
- 44mm battery: 435 mAh
Typical Charging Times
- 0% to 100%: 1.5–2.5 hours
- 50% to 100%: ~1–1.5 hours
- 15-minute top-up: ~20–25%
Charging Speed Context
The 10W charging matches the Galaxy Watch 7—no improvement this generation. Higher-wattage chargers won't speed up charging (10W is the hardware limit).
Wireless Duo Issues
The standard Watch 8's molded strap design makes it difficult to lay flat on Samsung's Wireless Duo pad. The Watch 8 Classic doesn't have this issue. Workarounds:
- Remove band before charging
- Use included puck charger instead
Not Supported
Wireless PowerShare: You cannot charge the Watch 8 from your phone's reverse wireless charging. This applies to Watch 7, Watch 8, and Watch Ultra models.
Charging Tips
- Use included charger or Samsung-branded alternative
- Any 5V 2A (10W+) adapter delivers maximum speed
- Keep watch back and charger clean
- Remove cases before charging
- Avoid extreme temperatures
