If you're on the fence about the Steelcase Gesture because of the price, here's a breakdown that might help. This chair is all about comfort, especially if you’re spending a lot of time at your desk.
According to the manufacturer, it offers a bunch of adjustment options like 360-degree armrests and a customizable seat depth, so it fits a variety of body types and sitting styles. It’s also built really well with high-quality materials, making it both sturdy and nice to look at. Plus, it can support up to 400 pounds and comes with a 12-year warranty on all moving parts, which is pretty reassuring.
Our research shows that most people are really happy with the Steelcase Gesture. Folks say it makes a big difference in reducing back discomfort compared to other office chairs. The seat is comfy, and the lumbar support adjusts nicely to different postures throughout the day.
That said, some people mentioned that it can take a bit of time to get the settings just right, but once you do, it’s super comfortable.
There are a few things to watch out for, though. According to our findings, the lumbar support might not be strong enough if you need a lot of back support. Also, the chair has a lot of settings, which is great, but a few people found it tricky to adjust everything perfectly because the controls aren't clearly labeled.
Lastly, the fabric can get a bit warm since it’s not as breathable as mesh, which might be an issue if your workspace gets hot.
Overall, most people think that even with the high price, the Steelcase Gesture is a good investment if you’re serious about comfort and ergonomics. It’s often recommended for both home and office use, especially if you’re sitting for long periods and need a chair that adapts to your needs.
