If you're starting out with origami, the BUBU Origami Paper Kit might be a good starting point for you. According to how the manufacturer describes it, you'll get a generous selection of 1000 sheets of double-sided colored paper, featuring 20 vibrant colors. This variety is pretty handy for beginners and can be great for school craft projects too.
Based on our research, the paper generally folds well and keeps its creases, which is what you want for simpler to moderately challenging origami. Perfect for learning and experimenting with different designs without stressing over super precise folds that more advanced papers might require.
However, it’s worth mentioning that some people have mixed opinions about the paper's quality. A handful noted that it feels like thin construction paper, which might not be ideal for detailed and intricate folds. So, if you're looking to do more high-precision work, you might feel this paper falls short.
There were also occasional mentions in our research about the inconsistency in paper texture and cut. Some sheets might not be perfectly square or the same size, which could get a bit annoying for projects needing exact measurements. But if you're just learning or doing simpler projects, this might not be a big deal.
Overall, if you're after an origami kit that's good for beginner-level practice or simpler projects, the BUBU Origami Paper Kit seems like a solid choice. It's a nice option to dip your toes into paper folding without committing to pricier, high-end paper.
