The AMS Bowfishing Retriever TNT Reel seems like a solid option for saltwater use.
It's known for being durable and efficient, which is why many bowfishing fans like it—you get quick retrieval and it's pretty easy to handle. According to the manufacturer, it can pull in about 27 inches of line with each crank, thanks to its larger brass gear and a 4.3:1 gear ratio. Plus, adjusting it doesn't require tools, which is a nice bonus.
For saltwater, it looks promising. It's made with machined brass gears and stainless steel hardware, which should help it stand up to the corrosiveness of saltwater. This design is something the manufacturer mentions as being part of the reel's ruggedness.
The reel also comes with 35 yards of really strong, ultra-thin, 350-pound braided Spectra line. According to our research, this should help you tackle tough situations without worrying about tangles or drag. People who've used it seem to love its reliability and ease of use.
It's also always ready for action since there are no buttons to fuss with, which is great for both pros and newbies in bowfishing.
When it comes to setting it up, folks generally find it pretty straightforward. If you've used AMS reels before, it should only take about a minute to set up—super quick! The reel is on the larger side, though, which might be a bit unwieldy for those with smaller hands, but most people don't seem too bothered by that because of its solid performance.
In general, the AMS Retriever TNT Reel gets high ratings, around 4.7 out of 5 stars.
It's well-regarded for handling different bowfishing scenarios effectively. Whether you're new to bowfishing or a pro, it's worth checking out, especially if you need gear that can take on saltwater. Just make sure it fits your setup and personal needs!
