As someone who cares about photography, let me make this simple: the iPhone 16 Pro is the better camera phone. It's not even close.

The Zoom Factor

The iPhone 16 Pro has a real telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. The iPhone 17 has nothing. Just digital zoom, which is basically cropping your photo and making it blurry.

Why does this matter?

• You can photograph your kid's soccer game without standing on the field
• Wildlife photos that don't look like blurry Bigfoot sightings
• Portraits with that nice compressed background look
• Concert shots that actually show the band

For any of these scenarios, the iPhone 16 Pro wins by default.
