The iPhone 17 Pro Max is available in three distinctive colors, representing Apple's boldest Pro color palette yet.
Available Colors
Cosmic Orange
The most attention-grabbing iPhone color Apple has ever produced. This vibrant orange immediately identifies your device as the latest generation—nothing like it has appeared in Apple's lineup before.
Best for: Users who want their phone to make a statement.
Deep Blue
A sophisticated option that appears nearly black in most lighting, revealing rich blue depth only when light hits at certain angles. It's sleek, modern, and professional.
Best for: Users who typically choose dark devices but want something slightly more distinctive.
Silver
The classic, timeless choice. Silver is also the most practical option for one important reason: when the aluminum coating inevitably picks up scratches or minor chips, the raw aluminum underneath is nearly the same color. Damage blends in rather than standing out.
Best for: Users who go caseless or prioritize long-term appearance.
Important Material Consideration
The iPhone 17 Pro Max features a heat-forged aluminum unibody frame, replacing the titanium construction of iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro models.
Trade-off: Aluminum is softer than titanium. Early adopters of Deep Blue and Cosmic Orange have reported issues with the anodized color coating chipping or scratching. This is more noticeable on colored finishes than on Silver.
Color Recommendations
| Priority | Recommended Color | |----------|-------------------| | Make a statement | Cosmic Orange | | Professional look | Deep Blue | | Durability of appearance | Silver | | Going caseless | Silver | | Always using a case | Any (case hides finish) |
If you're concerned about finish durability, consider pairing your iPhone 17 Pro Max with a protective MagSafe case.
