The Litter-Robot 4 app can be a pretty useful tool if you're interested in keeping an eye on your cat's litter box usage. While the Litter-Robot 4 itself does a great job on its own, the app adds some extra features that can be pretty handy.

From what we've found, the app is especially helpful if you want to track your cat's litter habits closely. It sends real-time notifications about waste levels, usage stats, and even your cat's weight after each visit. This means you can manage and understand your cat's litter activities without always needing to check the box.

The manufacturer describes the Litter-Robot 4's self-cleaning feature as working independently, so even without the app, it'll automatically separate waste from clean litter and store it for easy disposal. So, if you’re just into the self-cleaning aspect, you’re covered.

However, some folks have reported occasional WiFi issues with the app, which might be annoying if you depend on it for updates. Luckily, these don't mess with the basic self-cleaning function. The Litter-Robot 4 continues doing its job with or without the app, so you won't need to manually scoop every day.

Basically, if you're into monitoring everything your pet does, the app is pretty useful. But if you're just after an automatic litter cleaning solution, the Litter-Robot 4 will do just fine on its own.

It's really about how much you want to be involved with your cat's litter box data.
