The Donner Concert Ukulele DUC-1 actually does a pretty good job of staying in tune, especially for its price and being a beginner-friendly option.
The manufacturer mentions that it has these patented chrome-plated guitar-style tuners, which are designed to improve tuning accuracy. This seems to be true, as our research shows many folks find it holds its tune well after some initial use.
The nylon strings need a bit of time to stretch out and settle, which is normal for new instruments. Once you get past that break-in period, it should stay in tune much more reliably with regular tuning checks.
Brent Butterworth, a professional reviewer, also highlighted that it keeps its tuning well, which is quite impressive for an instrument at this price.
The bonus of free online lessons from Donner is a nice touch for beginners who might need some extra help with tuning at the start.
So yeah, the uke might need a little more attention to tuning when you first get it, but it settles down and becomes pretty dependable.
