The Tractive GPS Dog Tracker handles water pretty well, with an IPX7 waterproof rating. According to the manufacturer's product description, it can be submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for about 30 minutes. So, if your dog enjoys swimming or playing in puddles, it should hold up nicely.
Just keep in mind, like with any tech gadget, there can be a few hiccups. Our research suggests the GPS signal might weaken in areas with thick tree cover or poor cell service. If that happens, the tracker may have some temporary issues, but it'll get back to full tracking once it reconnects.
Also, consider the battery life. In power-saving mode, it can last up to 10 days, but 'Live' tracking might mean you'll need to charge it more frequently, possibly every couple of days. It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the app features and keep the device updated to get the most out of it.
Overall, the Tractive GPS Dog Tracker is dependable for both dry and wet outings, as long as you're in a spot with decent connectivity.
It's smart to see how it performs around your area before relying on it in critical situations, just to ensure it's accurate when you really need it.
