The COSCO 2-Step Big Step Steel Step Stool is pretty solid for most indoor tasks. It's got these big, slip-resistant steps that make reaching high shelves and light fixtures less of a balancing act—a handy boost for sure.
However, it does have a bit of a quirk. Based on our data, the stool's hard plastic feet might not grip so well on smooth surfaces like hardwood, vinyl, or tile floors. The manufacturer mentions these non-marring leg tips to protect your floors and touts the stool's portability, but they're not perfect for traction on slippery surfaces.
Our research shows that some folks have noticed it slipping on these smoother surfaces and suggest being extra careful. If you've got slippery floors, you might want to think about adding some stick-on rubber pads to the feet. It could give you the extra stability you need.
Aside from that, people generally like how the stool folds up neatly for storage and has a handle that makes it easy to carry around the house.
Overall, many find the step stool quite sturdy and easy to use. But, it’s worth considering the foot grip if smooth floors are a concern.
Whatever the surface, just make sure the steps are locked securely before you step up. Considering these points, the stool could be a practical addition to your home for everyday tasks.
