If you're using the Honeywell HC26P humidifier pad, it's a good idea to replace it twice each heating season to keep your humidifier running smoothly. That's what the manufacturer suggests for the best performance since these pads help spread moisture throughout your home.
Now, these pads are made from paper, which is pretty common, but our research shows mixed feelings about them compared to materials like metal. Some folks feel the paper pads might not hold up as well, especially if they're always damp.
So, if you're looking for something sturdier, you might want to think about metal options.
A lot of people using the Honeywell HC26P are happy with it, saying it fits their systems well and keeps the humidity levels just right. However, if you're worried about how often you'll need to replace them and want something more durable, maybe check out the Honeywell HC26E series made of metal. They're supposed to last longer.
In the end, whether you go with the paper HC26P or switch to a metal one is up to you and what you need. If changing the pad twice a season feels like a hassle and you're after something that lasts longer, maybe look into sturdier materials.
But if you stick with the HC26P, it should still do a great job of managing your home's humidity.
