The Hoof Boss Mobile Complete Hoof Care Set works with a 20-volt battery system that's compatible with several DeWalt lithium-ion battery models, like DCB200 and DCB206. Just a heads up, these batteries aren't included when you buy the Hoof Boss, so you'll need to grab one separately.
How long the battery lasts really depends on which DeWalt model you choose since they all have different runtimes and capacities.
As for using the Hoof Boss, our research shows it's quite popular for trimming hooves because of its ergonomic design that lets you use it with one hand, keeping wrist strain down. Plus, it's a time-saver compared to old-school methods. Most animals also seem to adjust to the tool's noise, which is about as loud as electric clippers.
That said, there are some durability concerns from folks who mentioned the tool stopped working or the motor overheated after several months. Sticking closely to the care and maintenance instructions might help with these issues.
So, if you go with the Hoof Boss, pairing it with a high-capacity DeWalt battery is a good move to maximize usage time. Just be sure to keep up with the maintenance routines to avoid potential hiccups.
