When we're talking about how durable the Hoof Boss is for frequent use, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. The tool runs on a 20-volt Dewalt rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery, but it's important to note that neither the battery nor the charger comes with it.
You'll either need to have one already or buy it separately. According to the manufacturer's product description, it works with several Dewalt 20V models, like DCB200, DCB201, and a few others, so you'll want to make sure you have one of those.
In terms of durability, it seems like a bit of a mixed bag, based on our research. Some people were disappointed because they had to purchase a compatible battery separately, which can feel like an added hassle given the cost of the trimmer.
Plus, there were a few mentions of the tool not lasting very long even with fully charged batteries, which has been a letdown for some.
On the brighter side, when users paired it with a well-chosen and charged battery, they were generally happy with the results. They found it pretty efficient for trimming hooves and appreciated the time and effort saved compared to handling manual hoof trimmers.
So, while you might have to invest in a battery and charger upfront, it seems that once you're set up, the Hoof Boss performs well for the job.
To get the most out of it and extend its lifespan, sticking to the recommended battery guidelines from the manufacturer is key. This way, you can keep it running smoothly with regular use.
