The Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra is pretty solid when it comes to handling different floor types. It has powerful suction—up to 290 air watts according to the manufacturer—which really helps when you're switching from hard floors to carpets and vice versa. Our research shows it does great in performance tests like the Crevice Pickup Test and the Carpet Deep Clean Test.

Basically, it's got the muscle to dig into carpets yet still handle hard floors smoothly.

One thing folks have noticed is its strong suction; it sometimes feels like it's anchoring itself to the carpet, which is a good sign if you want a deep clean. The new cleaner head and anti-hair tangle tech are neat additions, making it versatile for various floor types. The manufacturer mentions that the cleaner head adjusts to different floors, so you should be good whether you're dealing with hardwood, tile, or carpet.

It is a bit heavy, which some people have pointed out, but many think the suction power and advanced features make up for it.

So, if suction power is high on your list, the Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra is worth a look.
