If you're thinking about picking up the UNOKKI 17 Key Kalimba, it's a pretty friendly choice for beginners. The cherry-finished design is quite nice, and it's set up with both newbies and seasoned players in mind. The 17 keys are made from ore steel, and you get some useful extras like a tuning hammer, an instruction book, and finger protectors. These make it easier to get into playing without needing a lot of previous musical experience.
Based on our research, a lot of people find the UNOKKI kalimba easy and relaxing to play. Even if you've never touched a musical instrument before, folks say it's simple and fun to learn. Its compact size, around 7.4 x 5.2 inches, and a carrying bag make it portable, so you can take it with you wherever you go.
Plus, the soft and soothing sound it makes can be quite nice for unwinding, and it could even make a thoughtful gift.
However, there are a couple of small things worth noting. Some have mentioned that the higher notes might not resonate as well, so they might take a little extra effort to sound right. Also, a few people received kalimbas with minor cosmetic issues.
So while it's generally a good value and accessible, just keep in mind there's a bit of a trade-off in craftsmanship and sound range, especially considering its price.
All in all, the UNOKKI 17 Key Kalimba is a lovely and affordable choice for anyone wanting to gently ease into music. Its mix of being easy to use and producing calming tunes makes it a good pick for beginners or anyone looking for a relaxing hobby.
