Cleaning the Zojirushi Stainless Steel Mug is pretty straightforward, but there are a few tips that might help you tackle it more effectively.

From what we've found, people really like its simple design because it comes with a wide mouth and not too many parts, which makes it easier to clean than some other travel mugs that have lots of fiddly bits.

The inside is made of smooth stainless steel, which means it's usually not hard to rinse off any residue. On a regular day, just some warm, soapy water should work fine. Just a heads-up: it's better not to use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these might scratch the inside or mess with the vacuum insulation.

One thing highlighted in the manufacturer's description is the nonstick interior coating. It's supposed to help fend off stains and odors, making cleaning even simpler. Just remember to be gentle with it, so it keeps working well over time.

True, this mug isn’t dishwasher safe, which might be a letdown for some folks. But, most people find that a quick manual wash does the trick.

As for the lid, which can often be the hardest part of travel mugs to clean, it can be taken apart for a thorough wash. It's a good idea to take it apart regularly to avoid any buildup of old drink residue and keep things hygienic.

Our research suggests that drying the mug completely after washing is a good move to prevent any moisture from lingering, which can stop odors or mold from forming. Just leaving the mug and lid parts out to air dry works for a lot of folks.

So, while you can’t toss the Zojirushi Stainless Steel Mug in the dishwasher, its simple structure and nonstick interior make it pretty easy to clean by hand.

A bit of regular care, especially with the lid, and making sure it’s dry before putting it back together should keep it in great shape for your drinks.
