When you're looking at the Fujifilm Instax Mini 12 compared to the Mini 8, there are a few things that stand out.
Based on our research, the Mini 12 makes taking photos a bit easier with its automatic exposure feature. This means it adjusts the settings for you depending on the lighting, which is a neat upgrade from the Mini 8 that required you to manually tweak the exposure.
Another handy feature in the Mini 12 is the built-in selfie mirror and close-up mode. These help you snap more accurate selfies and detailed shots by reducing common issues like the parallax error in viewfinder cameras, where what you see isn't exactly what the camera captures.
However, it's worth mentioning that we've found some folks have run into issues with the Mini 12, like the shutter not working or the camera failing to turn on. Some people were able to fix this by simply reinserting the film or battery—though sometimes at the cost of some film.
Overall, despite these occasional hiccups, the Mini 12 is well-loved for its nostalgic feel and ease of use, offering that classic instant photo charm with physical prints that people seem to really enjoy.
In terms of design, especially if you like the Blossom Pink version, many find it fun and stylish—great for younger folks or anyone into a quirky aesthetic.
If you run into tech issues with the Mini 12, double-checking the battery installation and film loading can help.
And if things don't improve, it might be worth checking the manufacturer's instructions or reaching out for help, since some have managed to get replacements or refunds.
So, while the Instax Mini 12 ramps up the fun with a few modern tweaks and some style points over the Mini 8, just keep an eye out for those little quirks.
It's still a great pick for anyone looking to capture moments with instant prints.
