The Leader Accessories Deluxe Padded Kayak Seat seems to be pretty comfortable for long kayaking trips. Our research highlights its high backrest, which provides good support for those extended paddling sessions when you really need it.
In terms of material, it's made from 210D polyester with an EVA foam interior. While it's generally durable for water sports, it isn't completely water-resistant. Once it gets wet, it tends to absorb water, and that can add over two pounds to its weight. If you're trying to keep your gear lightweight for a long journey, this might be something to think about.
Despite not being fully waterproof, many find the comfort outweighs this minor inconvenience. If you're often in the water or dealing with wet conditions, you might consider using a water-repellent spray to help with the absorption issue. Alternatively, drying it thoroughly after use can help manage the extra weight.
As for upkeep, these extra steps could help keep the seat in good condition and lessen water impact. If using a spray isn't your thing, there are waterproof seat options out there that might be more suitable.
Overall, we've found the Leader Accessories Deluxe Padded Kayak Seat to be praised for its comfort, stability, and how easy it is to install and remove. If these features check your boxes and a slight weight increase isn't a big issue, it could be a good addition to your kayaking setup.
