Based on our latest research, there hasn't been a recent recall on Purina Pro Plan dog food. But, some folks have brought up concerns about the Purina Pro Plan High Protein Dog Food with Probiotics for Dogs, specifically the Shredded Blend Chicken & Rice Formula.
A handful of people reported finding mold or bugs like moths and larvae in their packages. It's definitely not something you'd want to see, but these problems often seem to stem from storage and handling issues, not the formula itself.
To avoid these kinds of issues, it's important to store dog food properly. Try keeping it in a cool, dry spot and use an airtight container to keep it fresh and pest-free. If you notice anything suspicious like spoilage or infestation, it's a good idea to return the product to where you bought it for a refund or exchange.
Overall, Purina Pro Plan products, including this formula, usually get a thumbs up for their quality and nutritional value. The manufacturer mentions it features real chicken as the main ingredient and it's packed with probiotics for healthy digestion. They also ensure their products are made in facilities with strict quality controls.
Still, storing the food properly is key to keeping it fresh and safe. If you're still worried about these issues, you might want to reach out directly to the manufacturer or chat with your retailer.
They can offer more detailed help and guidance on what to do if more problems pop up. Just remember, ensuring your pet's food is stored right is part of keeping them healthy and happy.
