Hey!
So, the FOREO Luna 3 does kind of lean on the FOREO app for a lot of its features. You especially need it for the initial setup and to get access to everything it can do. Basically, you'll download the app, register the device, and connect it via Bluetooth, according to the manufacturer's description.
That said, once you're set up, you can use the Luna 3 for basic cleansing without the app. So if you just want a quick clean, it's doable without grabbing your phone every time. But if you're interested in things like custom massage routines or tailoring settings to your skin, you'll need the app, because those features are app-dependent.
We've found some mixed experiences in our research. Some folks have mentioned connectivity issues with the app and said they weren't thrilled with having to use it for specific functions. This has led some to prefer older models, like the Luna 2, which don't rely as much on Bluetooth.
But a lot of people do love the app, especially for how it lets you personalize your skincare routine and monitor your cleansing.
If having to use an app is a big deal for you, maybe consider these points before buying. It's clear from what we've seen that the Luna 3 still does a fantastic job cleaning your skin, even if you skip the app stuff.
Ultimately, it really boils down to whether or not you want that digital interaction as part of your skincare tools.
Hope this helps!
