The Litter-Robot 4 Carbon Filters, made by Whisker, are designed to help tackle those litter box smells. According to the manufacturer, it's a good idea to change the carbon filters once a month to keep odors under control.
But, our research suggests that how often you swap out the filters can depend on your cat's behavior and how many cats you have. Some folks have managed up to eight months without needing a replacement, though sticking to a regular schedule usually helps keep things smelling fresh.
We've found that these carbon filters do a pretty good job at reducing litter box odors. People usually find them easy to install and don't require much upkeep. Many have noted that keeping up with replacing the filters has helped maintain a pleasant-smelling home, especially in multi-cat households.
One person even mentioned that when used alongside other odor control strategies, these filters significantly improved their home's aroma.
A lot of people also like that these filters are specifically made to fit the Litter-Robot 4 well. There are quite a few mentions of how swapping in a new filter noticeably cuts down on unpleasant smells. That snug fit seems to boost the odor-reducing power of the Litter-Robot 4 overall.
While the suggested monthly replacement is a decent guideline, remember that factors like how many cats you have and their habits might influence how often you really need to change the filter.
Adjust your schedule to fit your situation, and you should find a sweet spot between maintenance and effectiveness. Overall, if you're using the Litter-Robot 4, these filters seem like a good bet for keeping those pesky odors in check and your home smelling nice.
