The Gorilla Automotive 71631X wheel locks are generally known for holding up well against rust. They're finished with chrome, which helps keep corrosion at bay, especially if you deal with tough weather or lots of road salt.

But, like with anything chrome, they're not invincible to rust without some TLC.

The materials used are pretty durable, but giving them a regular wipe-down and checking for rust now and then can help keep them in good shape. It's a simple way to extend their life and keep them looking good.

Our research shows that while these locks are great at deterring theft, there have been occasional reports of minor rusting, especially in places with tough winters or lots of road salt. If rust is a big worry for you, you might think about using a rust-proofing spray or getting a maintenance kit.

Also, the manufacturer's product description highlights that they use Gorilla's Dual-Stage technology. This includes a free-spinning outer layer to make tampering harder, which also adds a bit of protection from the environment.

All in all, while you can't completely stop rust, these wheel locks are designed to help reduce that risk. With some regular care tailored to your local conditions, they should do their job well and keep looking decent.

If you drive in rough settings a lot, it's a good idea to stay on top of maintenance.
