Cons
- •Some onboard sounds, particularly pianos, may be less realistic compared to higher-end models; guitar sounds are impressive but others less so
- •The keyboard action is light and plastic-like, not as natural-feeling as digital pianos, which could be a downside for some players
- •One of the keys reportedly stops working after extended use, indicating potential durability issues
- •Lacks a touchscreen display, which could improve usability for some users
- •The sound quality can be muffled and inconsistent, with a tin-like tone even after adjustments, disappointing for professional-quality sound expectations
- •Reliability concerns might be an issue for long-term use, especially if frequent repairs are needed
Bottom Line
The Yamaha PSRSX600 is a versatile arranger workstation with great features for songwriting and live performance, offering a wide array of sounds and styles that cater to both beginners and more experienced players. However, potential durability issues and sound quality inconsistencies should give cautious users pause. If you prioritize professional-grade sound and a more natural keyboard feel, exploring higher-end models or alternatives like the Roland E-A7 could be worthwhile, but for solid value and versatile performance, this remains a compelling choice.
