- •The hedge trimmer performs reliably and meets expectations for primary hedge trimming tasks.
- •The long reach pole function is a significant advantage for trimming tall shrubs and avoiding the use of a ladder, enhancing safety.
- •Versatile with multiple angles for the trimmer head and handle, along with easy head tilt and rotating handle features.
- •Simple mechanism for extending and retracting the pole, which expands up to 12 feet.
- •Decent build quality, good for typical homeowner use.
- •Battery compatibility with other tools in the WORX line is a positive aspect.
Cons
- •Claims of compatibility with the WA0307 chain saw head are misleading as it is unsafe to use together.
- •Weight distribution and overall heaviness can be challenging for older users or those with limited strength.
- •The tool can become cumbersome and top-heavy, particularly when extended, making maneuverability challenging.
- •Requires significant strength to operate effectively and can lead to physical fatigue with extended use.
- •Assembly instructions are unclear and can lead to frustration during setup.
- •The cutting speed of the blades is slow, making trimming inefficient.
- •Lack of a strap for easier handling adds to the difficulty of use.
- •Expectations for more adjustable length options for closer trimming were not met.
Bottom Line
The WORX WG252 20V Cordless Hedge Trimmer offers excellent reach and versatility for tall shrub trimming, providing a reliable option for homeowners. However, it is on the heavier side and can be cumbersome for extended or overhead use. While it fits well within the WORX PowerShare battery system, prospective buyers should be mindful of its weight and limited compatibility claims. If ease of use and balance are top priorities, considering a lighter or more ergonomic trimmer may be worthwhile.
