Cons
- •Heart rate readings tend to be higher than actual rates and frequently fail, which also affects features like vascular age that become unusable.
- •Syncing issues between the scale, app, and Apple Health are common, leading to delayed or missing data updates.
- •The app experience is frustrating with slow loading times, inconsistent data transfer, and sometimes requires reinstalling the app to refresh readings.
- •Connection to Apple Health is quirky and unreliable, disrupting seamless integration.
- •The scale’s feet grip the floor too firmly, making it difficult to slide without lifting and causing noise or skipping on smooth or semi-smooth surfaces.
- •Customer support is reportedly unhelpful, repetitive, and slow, with premature closure of support tickets and poor communication.
- •Some users note that certain desired features are missing or don’t work as expected for the price point.
- •Overall app usability is below expectations for a premium device, detracting from an otherwise solid hardware experience.
Bottom Line
The WITHINGS Body Comp scale excels in delivering accurate weight and comprehensive body composition data with a sleek, user-friendly design and solid hardware. However, its true potential is marred by frustrating app performance, unreliable syncing, and inconsistent heart rate features—especially if you rely heavily on smooth integration with Apple Health and other fitness apps. If you want a scale that balances detailed metrics with dependable software and stellar support, you might want to explore alternative brands known for better app reliability. Still, if your priority is accurate body data with stylish hardware and you can tolerate some software hiccups, this scale is a solid choice.
