Pros
- •Effectively cleans a wide range of outdoor surfaces including driveways, fences, retaining walls, brick, granite, composite decks, and cedar roofs.
- •Works gradually to remove moss, lichen, mold, and mildew without the need for pressure washing, letting rain, snow, and wind do the heavy lifting.
- •Offers long-lasting results, keeping surfaces clean and less prone to regrowth for up to two years or even more.
- •Requires minimal maintenance, with a recommended application only once a year to year and a half.
- •Safe to use near non-edible plants, making it environmentally friendly for garden areas.
- •Leaves wood surfaces looking naturally weathered rather than artificially bleached or brown.
- •Using a battery sprayer speeds up application significantly compared to manual sprayers.
- •Has a proven track record with effectiveness observed over a long period of use (up to 10 years).
- •Gentle alternative to pressure washing, reducing the risk of surface damage.
- •Easy to use with clear instructions and minimal ongoing effort.
Cons
- •Results take time—often up to a year or more to see significant cleaning effects, which may frustrate those needing quick fixes.
- •Not ideal for old cedar roofs since removing moss may accelerate wood deterioration by stripping a natural water barrier.
- •Results can vary depending on stain type and surface material, so some users may experience less impressive effects.
- •Patience and proper timing (preferably a dry day in fall) are needed to maximize performance.
- •May not provide an immediate “freshly cleaned” appearance, which could be a downside for high-traffic areas needing instant curb appeal.
Bottom Line
Wet & Forget Mold, Mildew & Algae Stain Remover is perfect if you want a hands-off, long-term solution that doesn't harm your surfaces or plants and avoids the hassle and damage of pressure washing. Just don’t expect miracles overnight—it’s all about slow, steady results over many months. If speed is your top priority, you might want to explore alternative quick-acting cleaners, but for lasting outdoor stain control with minimal effort, this product delivers.
