- •Stackable design is convenient for storage, accommodating two units side by side in a pantry closet.
- •Maintains an airtight seal, effectively trapping strong odors and ensuring no smell in the storage area.
- •Holds approximately 50 pounds of dog food, with some extra space left.
- •Built-in feet help in stacking but may increase height, affecting shelf fit.
- •Durable design with some users having theirs last over 10 years.
- •Fits 26-pound bags of dog food perfectly with enough space for scooping.
Cons
- •Recent models show a decline in quality, with construction becoming less sturdy and material thinner.
- •Lid design is problematic, as it may stick, making it hard to open and close.
- •Volume is occasionally misrepresented, as it may not accommodate a 30lb bag despite size claims of up to 40lbs.
- •Screw top lid spins without clicking into place, causing frustrations.
- •Newer models do not include a scoop, which was standard in older versions.
- •Concerns about defects like small cracks and warping affecting the integrity of the container.
Bottom Line
While the Vittles Vault Outback Stackable maintains useful features like an airtight seal and a convenient stackable design, recent quality control issues and misleading volume claims can hinder its practicality. If you are seeking reliable pet food storage that's stood the test of time, past models have served well, but vigilance is advised when considering these recent versions. For those who prioritize component whistle-stop tours over storage airings, investing in alternatives or even seeking out older designs might be wise.
