- •The set includes a great variety of practical sizes, including a valuable 8-quart bowl that offers twice the capacity of a typical 4-quart bowl but only slightly wider, perfect for mixing large batches without spills.
- •Made from thick, high-quality 304 stainless steel, the bowls are durable, rust-resistant, and built to last.
- •Lids fit very tightly inside the bowls, creating a good seal that prevents spills and keeps food fresh, though this reduces some interior space.
- •Non-slip silicone bottoms keep the bowls stable on work surfaces and prevent clanking noises.
- •Bowls have a smart modified U-shape with high enough sides for vigorous mixing, and wide, rolled rims that provide a comfortable and secure grip.
- •The bowls nest compactly for space-saving storage, with all smaller bowls fitting inside the largest one (though lids cannot all be stacked with the bowls).
- •Easy to clean and maintain — stains respond well to Bar Keepers Friend without damaging the polished finish.
- •Well-suited for handling hot foods and excellent for various kitchen tasks including BBQs and grilling prep.
- •Trusted brand with a solid build quality, making this set appealing to serious home cooks looking for reliability and longevity.
- •Highly recommended by users appreciating the sturdy weight and overall premium feel in the kitchen.
Cons
- •The tight-fitting lids reduce the usable interior space inside the bowls when on, which may be inconvenient for some mixing tasks.
- •Lids cannot all be attached while the bowls are stacked, so storage neatness may be compromised if you want to keep lids on.
- •Stainless steel surfaces can scratch if metal utensils are used; non-metal utensils are recommended to preserve the finish.
- •The bowls are not ideal for long-term marinating of acidic foods as acids can pit the stainless steel surface — glass bowls would work better for that purpose.
Bottom Line
The Viking 10-Piece Stainless Steel Bowl Set in black is a high-quality, versatile kitchen essential that balances durability, smart design, and practical size options for every home cook. The snug lids and non-slip bottoms elevate its functionality, making it excellent for food prep and storage. Just be aware that the lids tighten the bowl space and the stainless steel surface requires gentle handling with utensils. If long-term acidic marinating is a priority, pairing this set with glass bowls might be a smart move. Overall, this set is well worth considering for anyone serious about upgrading their mixing bowls with a durable and stylish option.
