VEVOR 125 Pint Commercial Dehumidifier
Pros
- •Runs continuously with consistent effectiveness at maintaining humidity levels within tight tolerances (e.g., stays within 3% of 40% target)
- •Effectively reduces humidity in basements and crawlspaces with reliable operation
- •Heavy-duty construction with solid build quality for the price point
- •Operates reliably in cold environments down to 40°F, making it suitable for garages and unheated spaces
- •20-foot wired remote control cord allows convenient wall-mounted placement for easy access
- •Straightforward setup and easy installation process, even in tight spaces
- •Functions reliably out of the box with no complicated configuration needed
- •Allows remote on/off control when paired with a wifi-activated smart plug for added convenience
- •Performs well when set to continuous operation mode to minimize unit cycling
Cons
- •Develops internal refrigerant leaks causing coil freezing and complete loss of dehumidifying capability within 2 years of use
- •Evaporator coil freezes up after just 4 months of use in some cases, stopping the unit from functioning
- •Fails to remember user-set humidity levels after power loss, resetting to default 50% instead
- •Remote control uses only icons without text labels, making it difficult to understand functions like the defrost cycle indicator
- •Periodically enters defrost mode during normal operation, which can be confusing without proper documentation
- •Company support is unresponsive to refrigerant leak issues and does not warranty against refrigerant failure
- •Customer service response times are slow and segmented, taking up to 16 days for issue resolution and replacement
- •Several units arrive with stripped screws on the housing, suggesting quality control issues
- •Requires external drain hose connection for continuous operation rather than bucket collection
- •Requires mandatory 24-hour settling period before first use before the compressor can operate
Bottom Line
The VEVOR 125 Pints is an affordable, easy-to-install dehumidifier that performs admirably when functioning properly—especially for basements and crawlspaces. However, multiple users report serious reliability issues with refrigerant leaks and coil freezing occurring within months to a couple years of use, combined with frustratingly slow customer support when problems arise. Before committing, we'd recommend reaching out to VEVOR's support team directly to discuss their warranty coverage for refrigerant failures, as this appears to be a common pain point that could leave you without recourse if the unit fails outside the return window.
