Pros
- •Sturdy and durable construction that feels more solid than typical budget bookshelves, comparable to IKEA quality.
- •Well-made with reinforced dowel pegs and a hardwood-grained back panel instead of flimsy cardboard, boosting durability.
- •Attractive, modern design with a warm rustic brown finish (though this model is Cloud White), which complements various room decors.
- •Clear, easy-to-follow instructions with labeled parts, extra screws/dowels, and necessary tools included, making assembly straightforward.
- •Smart design features like sliding back panels that avoid nails, improving the product’s longevity.
- •Spacious interior with five tiers, providing ample storage for growing book collections or home office use.
- •Matches well with other furniture pieces in the VASAGLE CUSTOS Collection, creating a cohesive look.
- •Holds more items than expected and helps keep spaces organized and visually appealing.
Cons
- •Shelf adjustability is limited, which could be a challenge if you need to store very tall or oversized books.
- •Smaller footprint (9.4 x 23.6 x 52.8 inches) means it may not work for users needing high-capacity storage for large collections.
- •The bookshelf’s structural stability depends on eight coarse-thread screws into predrilled chipboard holes, which limits how tight and wobbly-free the build can get.
- •Assembly requires some care during screw tightening to avoid damaging the chipboard holes — more patience and caution are needed here.
- •Assembly can take some time and is easier with two people, though it’s still manageable solo.
Bottom Line
The VASAGLE CUSTOS Collection 5-Tier Bookshelf is a solid choice if you're looking for a stylish, sturdy, and moderately sized open shelf with a modern touch for your living room, office, or dining area. It stands out from lower-budget options by combining durability with thoughtful design details and quality materials. However, if you need more customizable shelf heights or a larger storage capacity to accommodate oversized books or bigger collections, you might want to explore alternatives. For users prioritizing premium build quality and ease of assembly with included tools, this bookshelf delivers great value.
