Cons
- •Some users report that WiFi 7 devices may not connect at full WiFi 7 speeds yet, with devices often connecting as WiFi 6 or 6E instead.
- •Higher frequency bands (5GHz and 6GHz) struggle with wall penetration compared to 2.4GHz, requiring strategic node placement in thick-walled homes.
- •Occasional compatibility workarounds may be needed for certain smart home devices, such as specific 2.4GHz-dependent units.
- •Initial setup may require ISP authorization or extra attention for full integration, which can be a minor inconvenience.
- •WiFi 7 support is cutting-edge but still evolving, so early adopters might not see the full potential right away compared to waiting for broader device support.
- •Compared to some competitors, the upgrade to WiFi 7 comes at a noticeably higher price, which may be a consideration if budget is tight.
- •Not many user reviews mention extended real-world testing of features like VPN and HomeShield security beyond general usage.
Bottom Line
The TP-Link Tri-Band WiFi 7 BE10000 (Deco BE63) mesh system is a powerhouse for anyone seeking future-proof, fast, and expansive home Wi-Fi coverage with advanced features like AI-roaming and strong security. It shines in large homes and smart setups with many devices but requires realistic expectations about the current maturity of WiFi 7 device compatibility. If ultra-modern WiFi 7 support and multi-gig wired ports are your priorities and you're ready to invest in the best coverage possible, this system fits the bill perfectly. However, if you’re looking for more mature WiFi 6E tech or a lower cost, consider waiting or exploring established WiFi 6E mesh systems.
