Pros
- •Effectively eliminates entire ant colonies when ants take the bait back to the nest, showing results typically within 1-3 days.
- •The liquid form is economical compared to bait stations, and easy to apply with tabs in locations where ants are observed.
- •Works consistently well when used according to instructions, keeping homes ant-free with regular reapplication.
- •Proven effective for both minor and severe ant infestations, including challenging environments like Vietnam's Mekong Delta.
- •Attracts and eliminates ants quickly, with some users seeing results within 12 hours.
- •Safe for indoor and outdoor use with no significant odor, mainly composed of the relatively safe active ingredient borax.
- •Allows the user to customize bait stations using cardboard or mixing with corn syrup/honey for enhanced attraction if needed.
Cons
- •Requires careful placement and regular reapplication, especially if new ant activity is seen or for more severe infestations.
- •May necessitate multiple applications over several weeks, depending on infestation levels.
- •Requires users not to manually kill ants to allow them to return to the nest with the bait.
- •New ant colonies might appear within a few months, requiring periodic treatments.
- •Needs to be kept out of reach of children and pets despite the low toxicity of borax.
Bottom Line
The Terro Liquid Ant Killer II is a potent and cost-effective solution for handling both minor and extensive ant infestations. Its ease of application and rapid results make it a favorite choice for many users, delivering powerful results typically within days. While meeting its full potential demands attentiveness in application and repeat treatments, its consistent performance earns it high praise. To keep your spaces entirely ant-free, regular use and observant placement of baits are key.
