Cons
- •Factory settings may require manual tweaking to get the best HDR, resolution, and audio performance.
- •Black levels, while very good for a Mini-LED, are not quite as perfect as OLED TVs, which may matter to hardcore cinephiles.
- •Built-in sound is adequate but not exceptional; an external sound system is recommended for a richer audio experience.
- •Adaptive brightness works well but might not suit every lighting condition or preference.
- •The sheer size of 98 inches might be overwhelming or unsuitable for smaller rooms.
Bottom Line
The TCL 98-Inch QM6K QLED 4K Smart QD-Mini LED TV is an absolute beast when it comes to screen size, brightness, and picture quality, making it a fantastic choice for your home theater, gaming setup, or immersive streaming experience. While it doesn't quite reach OLED’s perfect black levels, the Mini-LED tech delivers remarkable color vibrancy and brightness. Just be ready to tweak a few settings and consider pairing it with a good soundbar for the best audiovisual experience. If you prefer OLED’s deeper blacks for dark-room movie watching or want even more refinement, exploring premium OLED alternatives is worthwhile — but this TCL model offers an unbeatable price-to-performance ratio at 98 inches.
