Pros
- •The tape feels very sticky and thick, comparable to multiple layers of shipping tape, providing solid initial adhesion.
- •Adheres well to completely dry surfaces like metal and glass, making quick fixes straightforward.
- •Performs adequately for temporary repairs, such as holding small cracks in windows.
- •Removal after failure is easy and generally does not damage surfaces, with residue cleaned off using standard products like WD40.
- •Slightly stronger in feel than Gorilla Tape according to some users.
- •Application on dry, room temperature surfaces yields the best results.
Cons
- •Fails to stick effectively on damp or wet surfaces, despite claims of water resistance.
- •Not suitable for long-term outdoor use, as adhesion weakens with exposure to heat, rain, and humidity, causing water to seep underneath.
- •Edges are prone to peeling on vinyl surfaces sooner than expected.
- •Poor adhesion and holding power on foam materials, especially in cold winter conditions.
- •Not wide enough for seamless repairs on delicate items like phone screens or hoses.
- •Does not work on canvas, cotton, or similar fabric materials.
- •Not reliable for waterproof sealing or repairing holes in buckets, boats, or hoses where leaks may persist.
- •Amount of tape received may feel disproportionate to the price or packaging.
- •Overall strength is less than advertised; may not meet expectations as the “strongest” tape on the market.
Bottom Line
The T-REX Ferociously Strong Clear Repair Tape is a good choice if you need a thick, sticky tape for quick, temporary fixes on dry, hard surfaces like glass or metal. However, don’t count on it for long-term, heavy-duty, or waterproof repairs especially in outdoor or moist environments, as adhesion and durability tend to fall short. If you need stronger, more weather-resistant performance, exploring tapes specifically designed for heavy-duty or waterproof applications might be wise.
