- •Sturdy and durable construction holding up well even after years of intermittent use
- •Easy to assemble with all necessary tools included, making setup hassle-free
- •Compact design that folds down easily for storage, saving valuable home gym space
- •Supports taller and heavier users comfortably, with some users up to 6'2" and 240 lbs using it with ease
- •Provides effective support for back extension exercises, which can help relieve back problems linked to prolonged sitting
- •Thinner pad design allows better hip hinging compared to bulkier gym models
- •Comes from a trusted brand known for quality fitness equipment
- •Wheels enable easy movement of the equipment around the room
Cons
- •Pad cushion is widely reported as extremely uncomfortable, causing pain in the legs, pelvis, and sensitive areas, making prolonged use difficult
- •Fixed 45-degree angle without adjustable settings may not suit all users and can be uncomfortable
- •Handles are too thin and lack padding, resulting in an unpleasant grip experience for dips
- •Some users experienced misaligned handlebars, making dip station exercises awkward or unstable
- •Not ideal for users with shorter legs due to pad height and seat positioning, though some managed adjustments with customer service help
- •Lack of a proper footrest to keep feet flat, which can be a problem especially for users with foot conditions
- •Feels somewhat unstable during dips for some users, limiting confidence in the dip station function
Bottom Line
If you're hunting for a solid, durable Roman chair capable of serious back extensions and suitable for heavier, taller users, this Sunny Health & Fitness model delivers excellent value and compact convenience for home gyms. However, don't let the price or brand fool you—the uncomfortable padding and inflexible angles make extended workouts a test of endurance rather than comfort. If dips are a priority, be warned the grips and stability might leave you wanting. For better comfort and customizable angles, you might want to keep an eye out for models with thicker padding and adjustable settings. Overall, it’s a reliable workhorse for basic hyperextensions but falls short on comfort and dip station usability.
