Pros
- •Dramatically increases cats’ excitement and enthusiasm for mealtime, with many cats eagerly awaiting feeding time.
- •Rehydrates quickly into a texture similar to cooked ground turkey that cats love.
- •Extra water after rehydration acts as a tasty gravy, encouraging cats to drink more and stay hydrated.
- •Versatile usage: can be served dry as a treat, sprinkled over kibble to boost palatability, or made into a nourishing "kitty soup."
- •Grain-free and protein-rich, providing a high-quality alternative to traditional raw diets.
- •Chicken flavor is highly preferred by cats and generally well tolerated without stomach issues.
- •Packaging keeps the product fresh with no unpleasant odor, even if left out for a day or two.
- •Helps slow down fast eaters when mixed with kibble.
- •Endorsed by breeders and veterinarians as a safer and convenient alternative to raw chicken feeding.
- •Small servings last a long time, making it economical despite the smaller 3.5 oz bag size.
Cons
- •Comes in a smaller bag than expected based on packaging size, which may feel less value-oriented.
- •Packaging sometimes arrives partially crushed, resulting in dust and powdery texture inside the bag.
- •Cats often have strong flavor preferences; chicken is favored, but salmon and beef have caused stomach upset in some cats.
- •Relatively high fat content means it should be fed in moderation to avoid weight issues.
- •Not suitable for cats that dislike the powdery texture or dry morsels.
- •Product availability may be limited or inconsistent, which can be frustrating for continuous feeding.
Bottom Line
If you want to spoil your cat with a highly palatable, grain-free, protein-rich treat or meal topper that sparks serious mealtime enthusiasm, Stella & Chewy's Freeze-Dried Raw Cat Dinner Morsels in Chick Chick Chicken is a smart pick. It's especially great for picky eaters needing a hydration boost or slower eating. Keep in mind the small bag and potential packaging dust, plus be cautious with flavors that may upset sensitive stomachs. For an alternate freeze-dried raw option recommended by breeders and vets, this product fits the bill perfectly.
