Pros
- •Extremely durable, with some users reporting nearly eight years of use with minimal repairs needed.
- •Very comfortable for both short-term guests and long-term sleepers, often described as even better than a regular bed.
- •Inflates and deflates quickly and easily thanks to the efficient built-in high capacity pump.
- •Compact, lightweight, and easy to store or transport with the included carrying case.
- •Built-in pump makes setup and pack-away hassle-free without needing extra equipment.
- •Felt-like fabric top adds comfort and helps keep sheets in place better than typical vinyl air mattresses.
- •Retains air well throughout the night without significant deflation or sinking, maintaining firmness for hours.
- •Excellent customer service with fast, helpful responses and proactive defect handling, including prepaid returns and replacements.
- •Family-owned US business that prioritizes customer satisfaction and stands behind their product.
- •Can be enhanced with foam mattress toppers for added softness and luxury.
Cons
- •Initial strong vinyl smell may be off-putting and can take several days to fade.
- •Requires daily inflation for the first week as the mattress material stretches and settles into shape.
- •Needs air topping every 4-5 days to maintain firmness; it doesn’t fully deflate but does slowly lose air.
- •Mattress sits 2-3 inches lower to the ground compared to a traditional bed, which may affect some sleepers’ preferences.
- •Sheets tend to slip off easily and typically require clips or elastic bands to stay in place securely.
- •Some users have experienced slow leaks that are hard to detect and repair, impacting long-term durability.
- •Quality control issues reported by a minority: top seams coming undone after only a few uses, and hole developing after two months of non-abusive use.
- •Durability concerns mean it might not hold up well if subjected to heavy or frequent use without gentle care.
Bottom Line
The SoundAsleep Dream Series Full Air Mattress offers impressive comfort and ease of use, especially for those looking for a durable, quick-inflating option with excellent customer support backing it up. It’s a great choice if you want an air mattress that feels truly like a bed and comes with a reliable pump and fabric surface that beats traditional vinyl. However, be prepared to inflate it regularly initially and occasionally top off the air to maintain firmness. If you need something less maintenance-heavy or more ruggedly built, you might also want to explore other brands with thicker seams or longer warranties, but for overall comfort and convenience, this model is hard to beat.
